Gary creates such an amazing book. I find it extremely valuable for anyone that wants to make a living while building a legacy based on what they love to do and what they are passionate about. I found this book to be valuable because it’s not just another motivation book telling you to go out and do it. “Crush it” contains strategies, practices, and real life stories which the author lays out in a way that is easy to read and understand.
If you decide to check it out, I recommend getting the audiobook. It is read by the author, Gary Vaynerchuk, and you can hear and feel the passion he has for his work. He speaks with so much conviction that it can actually convince your procrastinating self to take action towards your goals and dreams. In the last chapter of the book, Gary leaves a checklist in “Appendix A”. This is a checklist that reviews the content of the book. It is arranged into steps you need to take if you want to develop, and succeed in developing, your personal brand. It worked for me. Yes, before I read “Crush it” I had somewhat of an idea as to what my passion is (music and writing) and I would take some action on my passion, putting in work here or there towards accomplishing my goals and dreams. However, I wasn’t taking action on a daily basis. “Crush it” definitely helped me sharpen my understanding, perspective, and overall vision of my passion. Gary talks about the time we live in. We live in an age where we are globally connected by the internet. We are so blessed to live in this time period because we have the ability to develop a personal brand much easier than ever before. Utilize the different social media platforms to reach out to your target audience, no matter what your passion is.
Do what you love. Plain and simple. If you have a very busy day, if your pet or children make a mess of the house, if you work 18 jobs, find the time and reward yourself by doing something for yourself. If you spend 7 hours a day watching TV and 2 hours a day shopping, that doesn’t make you too busy. You may be a parent, a student, a doctor, or a factory worker, if you want it bad enough, you will find the time. If you have a smartphone and use the bathroom every day, you can research your passion, listen to people who are living your passion, and develop a plan. Find some time every day to work towards developing your personal brand, twenty minutes is better than zero minutes. Connect with as many people as possible in the area of interest you are passionate about. Link up, talk to, comment on, respond to, and collaborate with as many people in the same field of passion as you.
To get from the place you’re at to the place you want to be requires the utilization of a few character traits: patience, passion, will, persistence, hustle, constant applied action, and a love for what you do. Don’t make excuses. Be strong, you owe it to yourself to go after you passion. Everyone owes it to themselves to make changes that will bring them fulfillment. Go after your passion, make a living and legacy out of it. Never quit, go out and “Crush it.”
Thank you Gary Vaynerchuk for this amazing book, I am very grateful for it. I feel glad to have your book as my first BOOK of the MOMENT book blog because this book has played an important role in me actually taking the time to create my website and blog and pursue my own passion of music, writing, and inspiring others.
